Why No One Talks About Resources Anymore
Survival Gear List: The Essential Tools You Need to Survive Out There
If you’re a person who loves to go camping or hiking in places where you literally don’t get the usual conveniences of living, then it only means you should be carrying with you a survival gear all the time. Now the question is what should comprise this kit?
1 – Knife
The decision to go camping or hiking without bringing a knife with you as part of your outdoor survival gear is probably the stupidest one you’re going to make. You should understand that a knife isn’t just for use in the kitchen because it also is an essential part of your survival gear. Well, the biggest reason why you must not go out there without arming yourself with a knife is because there are specific things it can do that no other outdoor survival gear can. This includes cutting rope, opening cans, building a shelter, preparing food, and cutting cloth and bandages.
2 – Cordage
Any DIY survival gear needs rope, without a doubt. As a matter of fact, it’s almost impossible to survive out there in the wilderness if you don’t have a rope with you. Rope is used for things like building shelter, climbing, holding things together, lashing poles, fishing, making animal traps, and for attachment purposes.
3 – Water Bottle
This one honestly does not need any explanation. Anyway, a normal person can survive days even without food, so long as there is water. Therefore, the failure to bring any kind of hydration system or water storage will decrease your chances of surviving out there. Bear in mind that not all water you see outdoors is feasible for drinking.
4 – Signaling Device
Once you find yourself in a survival situation after camping and there seems to be no one else around, it means that one of your primary objectives is to look for ways to contact people. The thing is if you let several days pass without doing something to make contact, your chances of being rescued will be decreased significantly. For you to be sure you have the ability to contact people for a possible rescue, you have to always bring with you a signaling device. A flashlight, mirror, whistle, or any other device that can produce either light or sound will be of great value. You just can forget bringing along a signaling equipment since it’s an essential tactical survival gear.
The fact is there still are so many things you should be bringing with you if you go out camping or hiking and we leave the responsibility of learning the rest to you.
